Beauty And The Beast Art

Beauty and the Beast Art

Do you remember, back in the day, when you would order the latest Disney movie at the Disney Store just so that you could get the lithograph? Unfortunately, I didn't live near a Disney Store, so I missed out on the cool art. But, I was lucky enough to find three sets at my favorite second hand store today. This set is four prints from my favorite Disney animated movie, Beauty and the Beast.

Hocus Pocus Fun From ShopDisney

Hocus Pocus
All images: Disney

A few bewitching Hocus Pocus collectibles have magically appeared at shopDisney. They are delightfully adorable and are sure to please Hocus Pocus fans.

Hocus Pocus Ornament

First up is a charming ornament featuring Mary, Winifred, and Sarah Sanderson, and a tiny Binx the cat. When you press a button on the base, the green flames in the cauldron light up and spooky sounds can be heard. The 4-inch ornament is $26.99.

Hocus PocusMystery Pins

These mystery pins are fabulously spooky and feature ten different designs including the Sanderson sisters and Billy Butcherson, as well as the transformation spell the witches used on young Thackery Binx. The pins are $17.99 a box, but, as these are a blind box, you won't know which two you get until you open the box.

Hocus Pocus Spinning Pin

This spinning pin features Sarah, Winifred, and Mary Sanderson in front of a background that spins and says Amuck, Amuck, Amuck. The pin is $17.99 and is a limited release.

Sanderson Sisters Dolls

The Sanderson sisters are unexpectedly adorable as plush dolls. The trio of 7-inch dolls come complete with their own cauldron, and they look ready to cast a spell or perhaps brew up a bit of Life Potion. The dolls are available as a set for $39.99.

Binx plush

It looks like this plush Binx has borrowed Dani's hat for Halloween. The 15-inch toy also has a collar with his name emblazoned on a coffin shaped tag. This enchanting feline is $22.99.

Hocus Pocus Mug

And finally, this color-changing ceramic cauldron mug and spoon are perfect for a witches brew. The 18-oz mug changes from solid black on the outside to green drips running down the sides when hot liquid is added. The cup has the Hocus Pocus logo on one side and says "Trouble is brewing" on the other. The mug and spoon are $24.99.

Happy Star Wars Day!

May the Fourth
Zi Xu

Today is May the 4th, or as fans know it, Star Wars Day. Traditionally, it's the day when new artwork, toys, collectibles, trailers, and even shows celebrating the Star Wars universe make their debut. This year, you can expect to see new LEGO sets, incredible new art on the landing pages for Star Wars movies and series on DisneyPlus, the premiere of The Bad Batch, new clothing and collectibles from shopDisneyAmazon, and other retailers, and much more. I can't wait to see what's new!

May the Fourth be with you, always.

Sleeping Beauty Tsum Tsums

The most adorable Tsum Tsum set arrives at the Disney Store today: the Sleeping Beauty collection. The collection features 9 Tsums: Aurora in both her blue and pink dresses, King Stefan, Prince Phillip and his horse Samson, Maleficent's Raven Diablo and a Goon, and the Rabbit and Owl that Briar Rose danced with Once Upon a Dream. Maleficent and her dragon form were released in a previous set.

A second Sleeping Beauty set is also being released today. It features Briar Rose and the three good Fairies, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. I love the Rabbit and Owl wearing Prince Phillip's cloak, hat, and boot!

Tsum Tsum Vacation Collection

The Tsums are ready to travel in this latest collection from the Disney Store. The collection includes Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, Chip, Dale, and Dumbo all dressed for their vacation. I love how over the top their outfits are.

Two other sets that will be released this week are part of the new micro series. First up is an Ice Cream Truck that includes Donald, Daisy,  Stitch, and Angel, dressed up for ice cream fun.

The second set is a Circus tent that includes Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Goofy dressed as circus performers. The micro Tsum Tsums are so teeny and cute!

Revenge of the Sith Tsum Tsums

This week's Tsum Tsum Tuesday saw the release of the Revenge of the Sith collection. The four piece set includes Anakin Skywalker gone dark, Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grievous, and a Clone Trooper. Anakin is definitely my favorite from this set. He looks so evil!

Tsum Tsum City Collection

Yesterday's Tsum Tsum Tuesday saw the release of several mini sets, all celebrating famous cities around the world. There are various Mickeys and Minnies (and a Donald, Stitch, and Angel) in clothing representing each city. I love these new sets, especially London and Chicago.

Mickey is dressed as a Royal Guard and Minnie makes an adorable Queen in the London set. The box looks like Big Ben.

For Paris, Mickey and Minnie are dressed as locals with berets and striped shirts. I especially like Mickey's mustache and glasses. The box looks like the Eiffel Tower.

In Italy, Mickey is wearing a toga and Donald is dressed as a gondolier. The box looks like an Italian bus.

In Chicago, Mickey and Minnie are dressed like popular foods. Mickey makes an adorable Chicago Dog and Minnie makes a very cute deep dish pizza. The box looks like the "L" Train.

On to New York. Here, Mickey is disguised as the big apple, while Minnie is wearing an "I Love NY" shirt. The box looks like a taxi cab.
Finally, there are two different Hawaii sets. In the first, Mickey are wearing Polynesian print outfits. Mickey is ready to surf, while Minnie is going to snorkel. The box looks like a beach scene.

The last set is Stitch and his girlfriend Angel, ready to hula. They come in a themed box that says "Hawaii 01".

Tsum Tsum Villains

The next batch of Tsum Tsums won't arrive in stores until September 6, but I am very excited about this new set: Disney Villains! There are eight Tsums in the collection:

  • Lady Tremaine from Cinderella
  • Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmatians
  • Ursula from the Little Mermaid
  • Jafar the Genie from Aladdin 2
  • The Evil Queen from Snow White
  • Dr. Facilier
  • Maleficent
  • Maleficent the Dragon
I especially like Maleficent and the Dragon. Maleficent is my favorite villain because she's just so deliciously evil. Which villain will you add to your collection?

Alice in Wonderland Tsum Tsum

I love Tsum Tsums. They're small and adorable, easy to collect, and fun to stack. The latest collection features characters from Alice in Wonderland. (An Alice set was available a few years ago, but the characters were so simple that some were nearly unidentifiable. This new collection is much more elaborate.)

The Alice in Wonderland collection includes: Alice, the Red Queen, the White Rabbit, Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, the Caterpillar (and his butterfly form), the Mad Hatter, March Hare, and Doormouse. There are a total of 11 Tsum Tsum in this set. I love the new facial expressions on these Tsums, especially the Mad Hatter and Tweedles. These Tsum Tsums are available at the Disney Store.

Disney has announced that a second series of Avengers Tsum Tsum will be released on May 3, just in time for Captain America: Civil War. The collection includes Falcon, Vision, War Machine, Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Black Panther, and the Winter Soldier (who is not pictured). Which ones will you add to your collection?

Haunted Mansion Tsum Tsum

I am absolutely in love with the latest Tsum Tsum collection. The Parks exclusive Haunted Mansion Tsums arrived in parks on April 15. They are now also available from the Disney Store online. The collection includes seven familiar faces: The Hitchhiking Ghosts Phineas, Ezra, and Gus, the Bride (Constance), Madame Leota, the Viking opera singer, and a Haunted Mansion hostess. I wonder what the hostess named her bat?

Halloween Costumes at the Disney Store

Are you still looking for a Halloween costume for your kids? Most of our favorite costumes have been either inspired by Disney or Disney made. Bean especially loves her princess costumes. After Halloween, they become a part of her everyday dress-up collection, which is ever expanding. We don't generally mind the expense, but we alway look for a good sale. This weekend, the Disney Store is having a sale on Halloween costumes and accessories. Select styles are 25% off, so it's definitely a money saver. If you haven't found a costume yet, be sure to check it out.

Disney Store Summer Play Days

Disney

Starting July 1 at 2:00pm, the Disney Store will be hosting Summer Play Days. Events will take place every day from July 1 to September 2, although times may vary. Be sure to ask a Cast Member in your local Disney Store for more information. Kids must be at least 3 years old to participate, but I believe can be any age over 3. If you attend several of these events, you can even receive a prize. If you attend 5 events, you get a Mickey Mouse keychain. If you attend 10 events, you get a Mickey Mouse watch. I wish we lived closer to a Disney Store, because we would go at least twice a week!

Disney Store Scare School

We took Bean to a special class at the Disney Store on Saturday. She attended Monsters University Scare Approaches 101. The class was short, but wild. When we approached the class, we were both given an ID and a sheet of stickers so that we could pick our monster picture. We also started thinking about names for our monsters. I named my monster Oozma and Bean named hers Fast Pink Shadow.

Scary Feet Scary Feet Scary Feet
After everyone had their IDs, our teacher walked us through the various scare techniques. We learned to do "Scary Feet", how to really "ROAR!" like Sulley, and even how to do the "Waternoose Jump and Growl."

ROAR!
Bean was so into her roars, that she was even selected to be a helper to get the other kids excited and loud. After learning how to scare, we had to practice until we could fill a scare canister so full that it flew around the room, which meant my mom, sister and I had to participate as well.

Monsters University ID & Pennant
We did a great job and were rewarded with Monsters University pennants, although we each had to roar to get them. We had a great time and a great teacher, which really added to the fun.

America on Parade Vinylmation

Disney
Pssst... Did you know that now through July 9th, this Bicentennial set of 3 vinylmations is only $17.76? The set is normally $44.95 as it's a Limited Edition of 5000, so $17.76 is a great deal, but there's a limit of 4 per customer.

Here's the description from the Disney Store:
"This online exclusive Vinylmation Park 7 Series Set commemorates America on Parade, which took place in Disneyland and Magic Kingdom from 1975-1976. Enjoy nostalgic memories of the United States Bicentennial alongside Mickey, Donald, and Goofy!"

I've ordered mine, will you?

Halloween Goodies at the Disney Store

As I'm sure you've noticed, I have a bit of a Halloween obsession, and I love when my two obsessions combine. The newest Halloween items at the Disney Store are straight from Disney Theme Parks. Here are a few of my favorites.
All images: Disney
This Webbed Icon Mickey t-shirt is so cute!

This Witch Minnie Mouse Hat is a fun twist on traditional Mouse Ears.

We LOVE board games at our house and this Haunted Mansion Life looks awesome!

I've been completely obsessed with knitting arm warmers lately and these Lace Jack Skellington Arm Warmers would make quite the fashion statement.

I just love this Costume Pirates of the Caribbean Hoodie, available in both kid and adult sizes. Its perfect for the pirate who doesn't really want to dress up but can't resist a little fun!

Last, but not least, the item that may just be my favorite: a Haunted Mansion Stretching Portrait #2 Pockitpal by Olszewski. This trinket box with a hidden magnetic closure is highly detailed and absolutely gorgeous!

Happy Easter

Disney
Happy Easter, ya'll. I hope everyone is having a great Easter and many surprises from the Easter Bunny. I love this Mickey Bunny from the Disney Store, but my favorite Easter Bunny was actually an Easter Dragon. The Georgia Renaissance Faire once held its opening weekend over Easter Sunday. As a result, they added bunny ears and a fluffy tail to their giant Dragon mascot, and he handed out Easter eggs to all of the children. It was hilarious!
